| HH HUD flooded? Hello After today’s dive I noticed that the HH HUD is flooded. I can see some liquid within the acryl cap of the HUD. The led still works but the vibration is very weak. Is this a common problem with the HH HUD? Do I need to send it back for repair or is there a way to disassemble it by myself and try to fix it? Kind regards DINspiration |

Kind regards DINspiration Just screw off the lens.. it might be loose or maybe the oring needs replacing.. There are too many possibilities where it could have had ingress from.. The swagelok nut can also be removed off the HUD (but not removed totaly as the LEd/vibrator is wired), to check that the leak isn't from the cable being pulled out a bit (most likely cause).. Carefully check that the ferrule hasnt cut into the cable.. If it has you'll need to do some cut the wire, replace the ferrule and do some soldering.. (NEW) When using a cable (for a fitting designed as pipe), the best way to tighten is hand tighten it about 60% more than standard for the size, the mark the 2 sides, now tighten it 1 1/4 more turns.. for 3/16 diameter and below, normally you hand tighten and then go 3/4 of a turn, for greater than 3/16 you hand tighten then go 1 1/4 turns.. so for a cable 3/4 becomes 1 1/4 and 1 1/4 becomes 2 turns (reassembly) rotate to previous position with wrench (significant resistance will be encountered) now SLIGHTLY tighten..

| Re: HH HUD flooded? Hello Joe I removed the lens and it seems that I have found the problem (see the picture) HH-HUD.jpg For me it looks like the red plastic isolation was the main issue. It also looks like HUD was flooded for a longer period. Most of the internal parts are corroded. Do you know the pricing for a replacement HUD? Or do you think that this is a warranty issue? Kind regards DINspiration |

Kind regards DINspiration but its worth a call to Kevin and an email ( with this pic) as well.. The insuation shoulnt have caused a leak (unless it was thick enough to prevent the lens from beng fully tghteed) since the seal is from an oring.. I would still investigate the cable side.. I thik its a 3/16 ferrule but I'm not 100% sure..
