Re: HammerHead Revisions and Issues

Barry,
dont get me started on your crap. This is not the place. I was simply pointing out that DiveRite dont manufacture the HammerHeads as you are aware. I was seeking advise from users who may have experienced similar problems I was not out to you a soapbox from which you can tell the world how important you think you are.

Re: HammerHead Revisions and Issues

John,

I had the same issue. Per Kevin's/Doug's advise, I made the hole around the wetsensor bigger. I used a 9 mm drill. I also scraped off some of the silicone around the wetsensor. The silicone was completely corroded (???).
After that, no more problems.

My HH is now a dream to dive.

for what it's worth, besides some problems with the depth sensor at the start, our HHs now work perfect since..

* bigger hole on wet sensor
* before first use: very well cleaning the batt cap, cleaning the treath inside the unit, well greasing both O-rings and tightening the cap very good after installing 3.6V saft

if you see white powder in the cap between the 2 O-rings, means you did not tighten the cap/did not grease the outer O-ring enough, so water passed the first O-ring and provoced galvanic corrosion: remedy: cleaning, greasing, tightening hard!

regards
paul

My only solution has been to wait until all my diving id over and then remove the batteries. Can anyone suggest something or do I have a problem with my handset's.
Thanks
The easiest fix for this by far, is to put a glob of silicone grease on and around the wetswitch. This will turn the units off at the time specified by you, and they won´t be so sensitive in turning on.

This seems to work for me.

Rinse the units in warm water to remove salt. Once the units are fully dry and off I compleetly fill the wet sensor with silicone.

Seems OK

Re: HammerHead Revisions and Issues

John ... I don't know I am wasting my time responding to your emails but I will try to offer you help one more time.

Go the path of Paul's email, silicone is only a temporary fix, get the drill out.

In the case of I strongly suggest you okay this with the DiveRite rep in Oz before you do the drill bit. If it was a HH problem I would say go ahead but Tony is Tony so who knows.

Please don't be rude with your reply!

just a warning: be very carefull when removing the screws from the HH bezel: the slightest resistence you notice, screw in again, 1/4 tour out, in, out, in, out...never force the screw out: if you do, the helicoil inside will be damaged!

regards
paul
