![]() | Re: HammerHead Revisions and Issues Hi Joe Don't know if this should be a question here or not but here goes : Just got hold of a later Hammerhead (think about three months old) & Inspiration to build up and play with, haven't dived it yet but was playing comparing the MV output of the cells on both the handsets. The primary shows 9 10 11 mv's yet the other shows a straight 10 across the board. Is this typical when showing MV output ? Also I need to buy some bits from Kevin, what is the best email address to get hold of him ? Thanks Andy |

You can get his contact information off of www.rebreather.us If you are in a jam you can call the number on the site and ask for Doug. He may be able to help you until Kevin gets back. Dont ask me why. Note that a cell showing below 9mv in air is unlikley to calibrate it will just show as a failed cell. When ordering cells from AB you have to ask for cells showing a minimum of 10mv in air. ATB Mark Chase

I have noticed something during diving that could be caused by a difference between primary and secondary in reading cell outputs. The problem is that my primary and secondary show the same millivolt reading both in air and pure O2 (within 1 mV, typically 54 and 55 mV or so). Still when I dive I have a 0.1-0.2 ATA lower ppO2 on my secondary. Why is that? |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: HammerHead Revisions and Issues The mV reading on the HH is rounded - you are dealing with mV traveling over 5 feet of 28 awg cable (which has it's own capacitance) - the output can vary slightly from handset to handset, but never more than a couple of mV. (and never enough to affect life support) The mV display is meant as a guide to help you determine the relative health of your sensors, or the thoroughness of your loop flush prior to calibration. If you want to know the exact mV output from your sensor, to a ten thousandth of a volt, I suggest you buy a Fluke ScopeMeter 123 for around $1,200 - this will help you confirm that while your Hammerhead is telling you "11mV" for a particular cell, it is in reality "10.995" ![]() Henrik - you should call me on Monday. And yes, the beach here in N.C. is beautiful. Why am I sitting here writing this post instead of playing with my kids??!! Gotta go! See ya, Kevin. |

| Optima Pilot Current Rebreather/s: | Re: HammerHead Revisions and Issues I am having trouble with my HH's shutting down. I wash the units with warm fresh water and am often finding they are still on 6-10 hours later. I have even tried a hair dryer but to no avail. My only solution has been to wait until all my diving id over and then remove the batteries. Can anyone suggest something or do I have a problem with my handset's. Thanks

But thanks for your input. John diverite has been given many spare parts.. DR is supposed to be the first point of contact.. If it cant be ressolved by them THEY send it to JM.. People who purchased directly from JM would contact him, if it were purchased by a rep contact should be to that rep..

![]() | Re: HammerHead Revisions and Issues Is it a problem for Kev I believe not! If you are having problems with a new cars brakes you don't go direct to the brake manufacture do you. Myself as a retailer of HH in Oz would not expect you to knock on my door with a HH problem on an Optima, I would advise you to report the problem to the DiveRite supplier, its only good manners. I have offered DiveRite my help out here in Oz but have been told to butt out as it is a DiveRite problem and may affect warranty. You problem is small in nature and I believe simple to fix but the fix would have to be sanctioned by DiveRite as it may void your warranty. Worth the advice don't you think or are you happy to start drilling into your new Optima handsets based on info gleaned from the internet?? Just my two bobs worth, most of this stuff can be resolved by a good DiveRite rep and don't need Kev's time. regards Baz |
