Master Hand set switching its self off??

Hello Mark,

About the cell error, on my unit I had same problem with cell error, everything fine until, I have been 30min underwater, cell error everytime, problem was with cell crimps!

I will now be crapping my self for a week thinking it wont be back in time for the loyal watcher trip

In the Inspo handset, of the various possible component failures, there are over 40 which can have the effect Mark described.

A component failure can be caused by shock, by moisture, electrical stress failures, latent dry joints, or random component failure: the fact that people experience cracks and water ingress frequently, does not mean the other failures do not occur also.

Examples of the sort of faults I refer to are any clock oscillator component failure, tant decoupling cap failure (90% of which are shorts), PROM failure, wiring failure to handset to microcontroller failures. Even buzzer failure can cause the symptoms you describe if it causes excess current draw by failing short circuit.

Anyhow, bottom line is unit needs to be returned to manufacturer, for sure. Mark could then let us all know the exact cause when APD have fixed it.
