| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Alan Studley ran me through his Shearwater GF last weekend and I liked it a lot. The data is very easy to read, operation easy and intuitive and the buttons are great. I took a couple of pictures with his camera (a strobe is such a handy thing to have) and Alan burnt them onto CD for me to share. ![]() ![]() The computer is plugged into one of the three cables but showed all three cell values. One of it's best features I believe, and redundant readout for two of the cells.

I've been in communication with Bruce a lot over this, and am waiting for the inclusion of the HUD. I'd bee really interested in your feedback, especially those of you using it as a direct replacement for the CK Kidney and handsets. Cheers Rich

Interesting setup Alan has, I hadn't considered using it in such a way... Has anyone considered running all three original handsets by way of some nifty wiring to make a full on secondary? Hmmm, so the KISS has three cable outlets- 1 for Shearwater, 1 for a secondary and 1 for a HUD, its not KISS, the wiring would be a nightmare but boy would it be comprehensive! | Re: My new shearwater.... Got mine with the SK connector. I am glad Bruce is retaining the same intuitive lay-out as the first Shearwater version for the CK that I tested in 2004. However, the new piezo buttons are a LOT nicer than the old push-against-the-spring buttons of the first version - just as schweet as the Vision buttons. I think everyone should go with piezo buttons, they are a little more expensive but the comfort and easy of use are simply priceless. IMHO, the case is a bit over-built as far as strength/size, but I am sure it will not suffer damages from mechanical abuse or depth. If it works as well as the first version, it will be a great tool. |
