| Vision Electronics V VR3 Hi, I was close to purchasing a VR3 with O2 sensor in the loop, for my Classic Inspiration recently but then held out due to a new software upgrade in the next few months. However since then a friend mentioned that I should look into purchasing the new Vision Electronics, cost wise I may be better off, even if it costs more to get the complete new set up from AP. Does anyone have an opinion, would it be better to go for the new Vision electronics or simply purchase the VR3 and add to my classic? Or is there any reason to justify both? Are their any pro's or cons I should be aware of? I look forward to some feed back. Regards, Andy |

I have the same problem - Should I upgrade my Inspiration to Vision or stay on the old habd sets - they work absolutely fine and trust my old VR3 which is integrated. Another avenue you can take is to look at the Juergensen - Hammerhead - which comes in between the VR3 and Vision electronics price wise. | Re: Vision Electronics V VR3 If i ran a vision i would also run the VR3 as back up. I would never trust one single computer to control my deco. For me I would go HH and VR3 intigrated. Thats my plan for next year. ATB Mark Chase

| Re: Vision Electronics V VR3 Good advice form Mark - I too would never trust a single computer. I run my shearwater built in to my meg and a HS explorer not too mention planning my dive before hand and having a rough idea in my head - I klnow I should really do back up slates but....*shrugs* Stuart

I was thinking of upgrading to vison, but as Karl said it is a bit on the high side, I have gone for the new hammerhead wich will work along side my VR3 fine. It is worth looking at as a option.Cheers, Karl Robprice |

| Custom Title Allowed! ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Vision Electronics V VR3 Hello, I went for the Classic YBOD due to being tried and tested, especially at depth. On an other note I been hearing too much bugs on the Vision! I can say that my Vr3 is here to stay as I does the Job and if I get a Vision one day, will still have the Vr3 as backup ! Also after Simon Tw Incident I will check more about getting a Vision.....only my opinion!

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Vision Electronics V VR3 Last I looked the Hammerhead was $3000, the VR3 tx/cc/O2 about $1500. The Vision upgrade costs as much as both of those and you don't get to keep your old head as backup. Biggest difference is the MO between the two, two setpoint controllers vs. one setpoint controller and independent dual pO2 monitor (HUD + secondary display). This is really a philosophical question, you either prefer one or the other. ![]() The Vision offers web based upgrades, gives you the option of the TempStick, and has a very nice wrist display. It also features cell verification, and allows the profile to be downloaded. The Hammerhead comes with a myriad of setting options, has the cell space for the VR3 build in, includes a dive timer on the secondary for table bailout, and adds the DIVA, an alarm you can't miss. In addition, it's powered by batteries located in the handsets. ![]()

| Re: Vision Electronics V VR3 Thanks for some good feed back, currently I'm cutting tables with a Nitek He as back up, so have no intention of just relying on one deco source. I think I'll research the Hammerhead more and it seems until the Vision is more tested go with the VR3 for now. Thanks for the info guys, really appreciate it, when you live on a tiny island this board is a great source of information. Regards, Andy |
