Re wiring Fischer connector

I have some how managed to kink the cable to my vr3 and want to cut it back and re connect.Just wondering if anyone has done this as I am not sure how to disconnect the fischer connector(7 pin). Also is it possible to re use the old connector?

Re: Re wiring Fischer connector

Here's some info for the 2 pin >>>here

The Narked@90 website has more info IIRC about pins.

Re: Re wiring Fischer connector

If its an original Delta-P or Narkedat90 cable, then the Fischer connector is also potted with a sealing compound. You might find it a bit more trouble than trimming it back. If you dont, then you need to!

Re: Re wiring Fischer connector

Do not waste your time trying to reuse the old connector ... the potting compound has made reuse impossible..

I recomend you get the threaded locking connector from Shearwater Research.

Bruce uses a special Fischer connector that has a locking ring and I feel its a much better connector than the standard Fischer ...

Re: Re wiring Fischer connector

Thanks for that .I tried to pull it apart yesterday ,and yes the potting compound makes it very difficult.I think I might look into the shearwater connector.
