Re: Liquivision Air Bubble on display

We're happy to replace Gio's X1. The vacuum void was cosmetic but the lines are obviously a problem.

It is rather weird that he insists on posting his problems on public forums when we have immediately answered every e-mail he has sent us.

Hi Eric

Like I wrote in my post, I have had no problems in communicating with Liquivision.

Your product is fantastic by the way, 9 dives with it so far and it has performed flawlessly

Keep up the good work...

/Christian

Re: Liquivision Air Bubble on display

I have no problem with Gio posting his X1 problem. It's interesting to learn what kinds of problems these units are experiencing. The reality is we aren't going to get a statistical breakdown of failure rates and their causes from the manufacturer.

Thinking out loud, I do wonder if the "cosmetic" screen problem would have been addressed by the warranty. Fortunately for Gio, the screen had other issues as well.

As for the cheerleaders, nothing personal, but I discount their praise for a piece of gear unless they've had at least a year of use and a hundred dives on it.

I like the X1, but it's still a unproven product imho.

Frankly, I am glad he did. If I was in his shoes I would be upset about something I paid a large sum to obtain having what you call a cosmetic problem.

Does your final inspection checklist indicate that if a bubble exists that it passes and is Ok to ship to the consumer? If so, what is the criteria...how big can the bubble be before it is rejected? How often does this problem show up in your final inspection? How often does it show up after shipment? What testing has been done to verify it does not effect use now and in the future?

All these answers are indicators of the capability of a manufacturer to provide a quality product that is inline with what consumers have come to expect. If you did not tell him or its not pictured in your marketing materials with a bubble then the consumer is not expecting to receive one with a bubble. I too would be concerned and more so when it increased in size.

Particularily when a product such as yours is new to the marketplace the reluctant consumers whom would like to buy the product but have been burned by new product introductions of CCR products are watching before parting with their hard earned cash. When I say burned I am not just referring to being left holding a product that you paid for but cannot use like one member of the forum who tells his HSExplorer experience at every opportunity. I am also referring to the lost dives, cancelled plans, interuption of time and shipping and insurance cost that come with the aggrevation of sending something back to be fixed when it was not right the first time.

Whatever each individuals opinion on the posting of this issue I would say it has been to your advantage as others can clearly see how you operate as a company. I am glad you have agreed to replace the computer. Thank you for standing behind your product.

There are two positive aspects in this thread.

Firstly Gio by letting us all know about this problem give us a better picture of reality and is shifting away the darkness of keeping secrets in this industry. It's been very informative on behalf of Gio. IMHO Rebreather community should not operate under the cover of mysticism and virtual reality. I would rather like to see all failures published but hey, I really doubt that this will ever be feasible for various obvious reasons. The todays motto of manufacturers is that "Happy customers do not talk". I would rather prefer to see a different approach by the manufacturers. Honesty! Thanks Gio for sharing this cosmetic or whatever problem with us!

Secondly but not less important we have Eric's and Liquivision's reaction and rectification measures for this problem. Good to see that they really stand behind their products and support their customers with a warranty policy that is in line with good manufacturing practice and demonstrates the professionalism of this company! Eric it is quite assuring for the rest of us to see that you really support your customers! By no means Gio is making any negative claim. We know that problems do occur. It is the manufacturer's will and ability to solve these problems that counts!

Cheers

Re: Liquivision Air Bubble on display

Thank RebDivers !
For me it's not a cosmetic problem, infact the bubble afther a deeper it became more big.Afther the first dive i'ven't any bubble it sarted after 2/3 diver before small then afther ten divers big and a great problem on the organic display. In my opinion the two problems are correlates.

From Liquivision I've only recived answer on pubblic or private orum, but nothig in my privete mail whay?

That would be me. LOL
Bought and 10 dives I think. Can't remember. Back 3 times with multiple problems over 3 years I think and never right. I think in the 3 years of back and forth I only had it at my house for 1/2 year. Then got tired asked for money back and no answer and unit still don't work.

Tainted me on any new gear. I won't buy it.

Back on topic.

Hope you get it fixed. I'd like one, I think it's a great unit in theory. Hope they work out well.

I'm waiting till they get the battery issue where I can change it out. Or they can change it out. Don't care, I just want to be able to change it.

But the theory is a outstanding unit theory. And all new units have some growing pains.
