| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | UWATEC Aladin Air Z O2 I was wondering if anyone has any advice, comments, or overall thought on the UWATEC Aladin Air Z O2. I just bought one for my dolphin as a back up. I am wondering how it performs?

![]() ![]() | Re: UWATEC Aladin Air Z O2 The Air Z O2 was specifically designed for use with the Dolphin. I'm pretty sure it is the only wireless set up. I have had no problems at all with mine. My instructor/LDS has been using a Air Z/Oxy2 for several years and has had no issues. One thing I have noticed is that I never (knock on wood) lose signal with the Air Z. On my OC set up I use Oceanic, and have for many years. I have a VT Pro now, but have also had a Datatrans and have always had signal loss problems. This is my first Scubapro computer, and I'm very pleased. PM me with any questions. FD ![]() |

Therefore the distance between the TX and the Aladin gets too far. What I did not like in the past was the replacement of the batteries which required upgrading the computers. Do you have the Oxy2 sensor too? Andreas Last edited by aknelson : 25th April 2008 at 02:00. |

![]() ![]() | Re: UWATEC Aladin Air Z O2 I've carried mine on a retractor clip on my left side harness for most of my dives. The only negative is having to fumble around for it when you want to check your numbers. I was hesitant to move it to my wrist for fear of signal loss. I have a buddy with an Air Z nitrox who wears his on his wrist who said in several hundred dives he has only lost signal 3 or 4 times. I decided to try wrist mounting and in ten dives I haven't lost signal at all. Even if it does skip out it's no big deal. If it gets out of range, just move it closer and wait a few seconds and it'll come back. The alarm will yell at you, but you can turn that off with Datatalk if you don't want to hear it. FD ![]() |
