Re: Shearwater Button Issue

There are several possible issues here.

First, where you push the button is important. I have found that some people push the button near the edge. You need a lot more force there than in the centre.

Second, we have new software that triggers on a shorter pulse.

Third, there is a lockout time after each push. If you push twice and the second time is doesn't work so you push harder the next time, it can appear that the harder push worked, when it was the timing instead. This happens more often when you are flipping through menus with the left button. You will find there is a cadence that works well.

We are considering lowering the lockout time, but the danger there is double pushes.

Fourth, out of the hundreds out there, we have replaced about 5 buttons that completely died.

If your button still works at all, you have choices.

Please email me and tell me who you are.

Bruce

This is valuable information, thanks Bruce!
