Shearwater GF Battery replacement

The Shearwater comes in two versions. The GF and the Pursuit.
The latest version is the Pursuit which should never be opened by the user. The external battery housing shown in the picture below removes the need to open it up.

The handset battery can last for many months diving. When the need arises to replace the handset battery, remove the battery cap on the right hand side with a coin or other suitable tool. Withdraw the battery carrier and replace the cell paying particular attention to the cells polarity. Refit in reverse order whilst paying particular attention to ensure the ‘o’ rings are in good condition and lightly lubricated.
NOTE: If you have inserted the cell carrier correctly, the battery cover will fit flush into the housing as illustrated above.

The older GF does not have an external battery housing and to replace the battery, the instructions in previous postes should be observed.

The Pursuite has a rather different design, separate battery compartment which is easily accessed with a coin slot cap on the side... no need to remove the face.
