Conchran EMC-20H does it do bailout?

I thought I read or heard once that you can actually get the EMC-20h to do bailout. Getting it to switch from CC to OC while in a dive.

I know the Cochran's function is much more crude than the Shearwater manual that I just read, but is it possible?

I just posted about this on another thread.

You can take your cochran to a dealer and with the dealer software they can turn on a feature that will allow you to go from PO2 - FO2 in just one second...all you do during the dive is touch a bolt snap to contacts 1 and 2 and then you can toggle between FO2 and PO2. It's a pretty cool function!

There are some other things you can do as well like store all of you DAN information in the computer so that if you are injured DAN can upload all of you personal info, recent dive info, and cert agencies / year all in one motion... There are a lot of features that the Cochran line of computers have that require your dealer to set up so you can get the full benifit.

If I can figure out how to upload some screen shots I will show you what I'm talking about.

That sounds really convieniant. Why not take the Cochran to the dealer and leave it there and buy a computer that does that job right out of the box? Its a really cool function that a Shearwater or X-1 does already with a button push right out of the box.

This normally isn't a problem if the dealer understood what you were doing with the computer and set it up for you when you bought it.

I have had the Cochran since OC days and am kinda used to it. I use it now as my back-up since I know it is solid.

I just invested the $3000 in Pursuit a few weeks ago and don't want to just forget my investment in the Cochran.

I don't know if shipping time is a big deal or not, but if you wanted to ship your computer to me I will do the set up on it for free, (you pay the return shipping). I would need to get you on the phone so we could go into everything line by line, it only takes about 30 minutes or so MAX. Or you can try to find a local dealer who won't charge you an arm and a leg to do it locally.

And how easy was it to set up the bailout gases. If you get some screen shots or if you know where Cochran has instructions on how to set it up, please post it.

What I like about the Pursuit is that you can load in up to 5 bailout gases and the computer will use the most appropriate gas according to depth. You can then select or over ride to a different gas. With the Cochran if you put in the gasses in the wrong order it will use that gas and then beep warnings telling you that you are screwed.

I'm a new dealer for the Cochran line, and I just got the software that will allow me to make all of these changes in house. I have heard that most dealers will charge you up to $150 for this service...

The Cochran will do all of the same stuff that the Shearwater will do, you just have to set it up (or I should say the dealer). unfortunantly all of these changes require a program called analyst 4.0 that is only provided to Chocran dealers.

I would be more than happy to help you with yours if you cant fond someone to do it for free.

Shawn you are very generous to offer this for me. I know of 2 local Cochran dealers but don't know if I trust them to do something like this. I will PM you.

I will first check to make sure this feature is not already turned on. I just got my EMC-20 back from Cochran as I paid to get the CC upgrade.
