nitek X orders

Hi all,

in late decembre the french dive rite dealer annouced that the nitek were about to be realeased and that orders could be send with 150 a 150 €uro deposit.

my buddy and I decided to order one, on the phone we asked the dealer about the delivery date and the potential delay.

the guy stated "there's no problem"

the offer was saying delivery from january.

so far no new and we are nearly in april....

It would be great to find out persons in the same case to collectively complain.

no one is ordering expensive pieces of kit to wait for it for months, we need it to dive, not to dream that one day we will able to dive.

has anybody recieved his order ?

has anybody cancelled and asked for deposit refund ?

regards

jean mi

Have I missed something??

Unless it's me I can only see a product description of the Nitek X in the link above, and no mention of shipping dates, only the usual "Coming soon...."

The original question was "Has anyone received their's yet?"

Just checked the DiveRite blog and as of 25th Feb they were still testing the Beta units.....

They are not out yet. If you check in the Blog section of the web page, you will see where things are as far as testing goes. The units are in the final stages of testing before release.

I do not work for Dive Rite, but I have been following up on the release of the unit, and this is what I am told (and what the web page corroborates).

Re: nitek X orders

In November at DEMA, Dive Rite was telling their dealers they hoped to have units in January. Dive Rite themselves were forthright at DEMA that January was a guess and delays were a possibility. It comes then as no surprise there were and continue to be production delays. Your local dealer did you a disservice by accepting orders and being overly reassuring about delivery date, or for that matter, price.

hi all

thanks for info,

it is really not honest for a dealer to get deposits from clients for an item that is being betha tested.

the french dealer never mentioned this, he said I don't see why there would be a problem.

I am really upset ,

My friend gonna ask for a cancellation and refund and we gonna buy other stuff to be able to dive otherwise then with an explorer starting eating batteries and a nexus unable to master helium based mixes....

regards

jean mi

of course this is the dealer I am blaming at the time not dive rite,
I must correct you on one point the dealer did not accepted money he asked money for the orders never mentionning any production delays

This is not correct, and perhaps a misinterpretation of Dive Rite's blog. Dive Rite has been testing with a small number of hand made prototypes. There continue to be some production delays, and once those are resolved, a small pre-production run will have to be put in the hands of some field testers. _Assuming_ the production beta units are satisfactory, then they will begin mass production. The upside of the production delays has been expanding the time available to test and improve the software.
