kiss displays

Guys, i have three of the newer kiss displays that came off a sport, I am going to use these in my converted Dolphin. My questions is can I use R22Ds with these displays, or only the K1s. thanx.

I was told that if you want to use R-22's you need to change a resistor in the sport displays.
If you do a search you will find that this topic has been discussed.

Re: kiss displays

I guess it depends on the output range of the cells. Get hold of the data sheets for the two cells, if they match up then I can't see why you couldn't use either. The displays are reading voltage with a gain adjustment to get the reading in the same range as your gas. I guess it comes down to how much adjustment there is.

If the resistor needs to be changed then it is easy to spot, it is piggybacked on to another one on the back of the display. I wouldn't like to try to swap it, it is an extremely small part. Might be better either buying new meters from Kim or mod'ing a new one from Lascar rather than trying to remove and replace the old resistor. I dived mine for ages with no gain adjustment, just reading straight voltage. You get used to "55" meaning 1.1

Ask Kim, she put me in touch with the guy who makes the displays who gave me details of how they are modified.

Cheers,

Stuart
