| New Member Current Rebreather/s: | HS Explorer Question Hi Thirstday I wanted to dive my ( used ) new HSE To my surprise the battery was totaly flat... unbelievable 0V In a hurry I was lucky to get a new one LS14500. Put it in, reprgrammed the HSE via kabel.. All fine. Went to decent dive, ND, ca 30 minutes in lake constance, maby 6 degrees. Comming back, I think in ca 3m, I suddenly remarked an empty screen. Could not reactivate.. all stayed empty. In the restaurant, I opened battery, all dry. Reinssert. No activity.... Comming home I messured the battery, 3.6V and reinserting.. to my surprisse HSE works like usual, showing 3.6 Volts.. And I could download the dive, I only believe parts in shalow are missing. ???? I'm feeling unsafe now. Anybody any idea for a explanation ??? Are they known to be temperture sensitiv? THX for your help |

| Re: HS Explorer Question Hi first thing bend out trhe battery tang a bit, if you have some add a tiny bit of conductive lubricant.. Follow the battery insertion procedures outlined in the manual.. the positioning of the tang and how much you tighten the cap is important.. the wrong position of the tang can put it near/over the gap in the contact.. too tight forces the computer to reset under pressure..Thirstday I wanted to dive my ( used ) new HSE To my surprise the battery was totaly flat... unbelievable 0V In a hurry I was lucky to get a new one LS14500. | Re: HS Explorer Question I have had the same thing happen, as Joe said its down to getting the battery cap set correctly. If its any comfort I have had a VR3 do similar things for the same reason. Simon |
