Hud Question !!

THIS MAY SOUND SIMPLE ,BUT IM NOT SURE ON THE WORKING NEEDS OF A HUD.
CAN I SIMPLE PLUG ONE INTO THE SIDE PORT OF THE CK ,OR MAYBE INTO ONE OF THE EXCISTING CELLS.THIS SEEMS TOO EASY ,SO I AM ASSUMING THERE MUST BE MORE TO IT THAN THAT.

Firstly- No need to SHOUT

It depends on which HUD you are talking about, I'll try to keep it simple.

If you have the new URM Kidney on your KISS the Jetsam/VR£ HUD plugs straight in with the URM.

If you have a Jetsam Kidney you need to loose a single display or use the redundant O2 port to gain access to the head. If you swap to a Subsea or Shearwater System you can either do that or fit their own 3rd party kidneys.

Once inside the head (dependant on your HUD) you'll either need to add a forth cell inside the CL or connect to 1, 2 or 3 of the existing ones by adding a second connection to each molex connector.

To summarize, unless you're buying a whole system from Subsea, Shearwater, Jetsam or VR£ you are going to need to strip the kidney off, be prepared to pull the molexs apart and play with cable glands etc.

(I have a Shearwater GF and HUD running into a Shearwater replacement Kidney, so all three cells are read by both the GF and the HUD, its there only point of common connection.)

Hope that helped/confused you more...

BEN
