UDI RGBM Dive Computer

Has anyone seen/used the Underwater Digital Interface (UDI) yet?

It features RGBM and text messaging. Looks quite interesting. Any first hand experiences?

I'll qualify this statement first for impact- I am a Shearwater GF user but....

.... Gez, that is one big son-of-a-b*tch!

(Or the dude in the photo has tiny baby hands....)

Looks about 6" long by 4" wide with a giant "growth" at one end!

Anyone know how well the underwater texting bit works?

Definitely!

I have just received the 3 X1 computers yesterday (i.e. hand-carried by expensive smuggling "mules" - thanks guys ) and, honestly, I don't think I will ever want a big computer anymore after seeing how small the X1 is.

And with great graphics to boot.

Don't ask me how well they dive since I will be out of the water for a few more weeks yet waiting for the containers.

... but the u/w communication could be interesting *IF* you could do more than pre-written messages.
