Re: Hammerhead requires a big hammer

Kevin already PM'ed me. Talk about service, this Guy is great. I hadn't even contacted him yet.
Even with a couple of minor problems with my Hammerhead, the service and support are unbelievable. Definitely the right choice for me!

That is not actually the most recent metal handset...because it has a hole on top of the pressure transducer. You should ask Kevin for a new face plate that has a channel cut into it leading to the lens opening. This keeps more of an air pocket in front of the pressure transducer. I had quite a few pressure transducer problems with the prior metal handsets, but I have over 120 hours on my new handset, at depths to 350 feet, without any pressure transducer issues.

Aloha,
Charlie
The channel is cut under the faceplate. Mine has one but it looks just like the unit in the photo.

Do you have a pic of what you are talking about?

Yes, I do. It is the same one posted earlier, just without the tiny pin-hole below the water-activation mechanism.

In the words of the immortal Homer Simpson.... DOH! Didn't notice the pin hole til you pointed it out.

Sounds like a failed pressure transducer.. If its a delrin handset kevin has to swap it out.. This is the one thing that everyone using the intersema sensor has to deal with... These include but not limited to.. Vr3, Shewarwater, HH, X1....
Nothing any of the manufacturers can do except swap parts....

If the transducer is like my VR3, a garden hose spraying water at just the right angle can damage the transducer. I had a transducer go out on my VR3 after spraying it off after the previous dive.

Do you know the part name for the pressure transducer, and maybe somewhere I can get one?

Thanks,
Henrik

look at this page
Product Selection Guide

the 2 that are used in DCs are 5535 and 5541 the only difference is the package.. These are not that easy to buy in small quantities..
