He is a great guy to talk with and will be willing to give you a good deal of insite on his suite and why they developed it the way they did. --SB |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Laguna Research some neat stuff, but the units do not have decompression program installed yet, so it is only a pp02 monitering device. And I haven't heard when this will happen? anyone else heard something more? All the best. |

![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: New "Drop in" Electronics - Laguna Hi, I've had Laguna PPO2 electronics in my 155 for about three years now. Firstly as using the Old hardware - benbex's, pod, primary ect - and for the last six months with the new hardware. I tell you it was a real pleasure stripping out the bendexs. That is a wonderful connector but I was really starting to fight mine. The new laguna stuff also has built in solonoids for 02 and Dil. I've done about 220 hours on the new stuff and it is really nice. The hardware is a slick machine build - kindof aerospace rather than the usual agricutural - and the control is even tighter than it was. It is "just control" but I run of the VR3 anyway and as most days we work between scuba and CC having all my deco tied to a rig is not something I would use anyway. The new HUD is about done I hear. It is exciting gear. It is pretty modular and I am really interested in Using it to control a D dolphin or something similar. The lads have made a sensor pod for the drager and have had one running as a fully closed nitrox CCR already. In my line we have always fantisized about a truly tiny mixgas rebreather for short durations to 60feet. That may be a reality now. Doug |

| New Member Current Rebreather/s: Inspiration Classic | Re: Laguna Research Hello, With respect to deco integration... we chose to not go that path as we wanted separation between the controller electronics (hardware and software) and the deco stuff... failure mode reasons. But we did provide an output on the UDC to pipe the O2 sensor information to you're favorite O2 sensing computer! We've been asked to develop a deco solution with our suite of stuff... So since the demand is there - it's a project on the boards. But it won't be for awhile... as we have a several higher priority projects first. It will utilize a very reliable deco process and will directly integrate with your desktop planning software as well - a complete circle if you will - desktop to system and back. That's about all I can say right now - since it's just vaporware anyway until it's in your hands!

I like the idea of that!Is the O2 sensor information a polled single value (i.e. the value your electronics calculated) that could be used with say a VR3 or Explorer? Or are the values of all three sensors piped out of the UDC so a Pursuit could be hooked up?

I don't know how he does it, but I would just send out the averaged/voted voltage (adjusted for pressure) out.. this way any computer capable of monitoring at least a single cell could use it, and the computer would only have to be calibrated once, and only the electronics would need calibration..Is the O2 sensor information a polled single value (i.e. the value your electronics calculated) that could be used with say a VR3 or Explorer?
