| Re: Shearwater Battery Replacement Can anyone tell me how?? i.e. After battery replacement, clean the o-ring carefully, put the cover back on, just lightly snug up the screws, check the o-ring to make sure it is ok then finish tightening the screws just enough as to compress the o-ring all the way. is there a trick to replaceing the cover?? and order in which to screw the screws in Thanks You should tighten the screws in a nice even pattern. Remember, do not overtighten!!!!!!, you are screwing into plastic. |

Exactly....put a very small amount of lube on the O ring and only tighten the screws until you see a dark line appear through the cover. It is always best to start with the corner screws and work your way inwards. You should tighten the screws in a nice even pattern. Remember, do not overtighten!!!!!!, you are screwing into plastic.
