| digital nomad Current Rebreather/s: | Is Nitek-X the revived Tachyon? Heliox Technologies used to advertise a promising unit some time ago, calleds the "Tachyon". As I recall they also mentioned being OEM suppliers. The much awaited Tachyon was never released and the heliox.com website has been down some months now. Looking at the Nitek-X, I realize it must be the Tachyon under the DiveRite label. I know that the old Nitek-He used to be a Seiko OEM unit so what about the Nitek-X? Who makes it? Bets anyone? /GKAM

Kathleen posted a link a few days ago to the DR blog. Therein Lamar says this was a start-to-finish design by DR. The similarity you notice is noted, but frankly I'd be surprised . . . --dan |

![]() | Re: Is Nitek-X the revived Tachyon? Right; Dive-Rite all the way. Absolutely nothing to do with Heliox... Whatever they say... Will have to check w/the Heliox guys to see where they stand as far as releasing other products soon. Cam |

Several have been test diving with it, and I've had one for evaluation for a few days in December as well. Mark,-- Mark First impressions of the X, if you are allowed to comment at this point. Still looking for spring arrival? Richie |

Yeah I know the Nitek is danerously close to being available but for us hoi polloi its still basicly vaporware. -- Mark Pity too. I had a basic one gas Nitek and now have two HEs and was pretty jazzed about a CCR/mixed gas computer from the same folks. Unfortunately while I was waiting I saw the Shearwater. Very happy with it and its here in my hands now not next spring.
