My head has been set up for the forth sensor when I went to the new handsets and software to be ready to plug in the X when the beta units get here. The X will have a lot of features that the HH does not and the backup deco in the secondary is still a good thing, I will use both. I have never seen any computer make the target date and I would rather see it late and right than early and AFU. I started using DR computer with Bridge and have tested the first run on the III and HE and they have never let me down.![]() |

![]() | Re: Nitek X Hi Everyone, Thank you for your patience; we, too, are anxious to release the NiTek X. The NiTek X is now in the testing phase, with daily dives on the Alpha unit. You can follow the test progress at Technical SCUBA Diving Equipment for Advanced, Wreck and Cave Diving: Dive Rite, Inc. - Dive Rite Scroll to the bottom of the blog and you will see that Lamar has posted an update on the NiTek X. You can view divers' field notes in the comments section of the NiTek X blog. Beta units will be in-house soon and we will continue to post field test results as these become available. Cheers, Kathleen Dive Rite Equipment for Serious Divers Since 1984 |

![]() | Re: Nitek X Hi Kathleen, Yes, the NiTek X will have a custom gradient option. After the 3 presets you can scroll to custom gradients. Right now we are playing with the presets to make sure we have selected the best GF options for most divers, a balance between safety and conservation for the more common dives. We will also offer education on the use of selecting custom GF's because sometimes the fastest deco schedule is not the best for the dive, ETC. Do I read right that there is an "unlock function" that will allow end users to set their own GF values? Very exciting, if so. --dan Thanks, Kathleen |

![]() ![]() | Re: Nitek X There is absolutely nothing the matter with Dive Rite announcing a product before it is released. Think about it, automobile manufacturers, computer, video game/software makers and many other businesses do it all the time. There is a big difference between good business, which can include announcing, informing the public, creating anticipation and demand for a yet-to-be-released product and pleasing every forum member, with a computer keyboard, who wants-what-they-want-when-they-want-it, all according to their own personal time schedules. Make no mistake about it, Dive Rite will release the Nitek X when they are ready (and no, I don't have any "inside information"). I would be as willing to bet, as I am to wait for it, that the Nitek X will be an amazing product and I for one am greatly looking forward to diving my CCRs here in Kona, Hawaii, with it on my wrist. Like John's, my Optima is already set-up for the fourth sensor and while I am not testing one of the beta units, it will be ready-to-go when the Nitek X does hit the market. Sometimes in life you have to wait for good things and I firmly believe this one from Dive Rite will be more-than-worth-it. I am eagerly awaiting it.
