| NA ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Basic T piece makeup Ok, I'm new so here is a basic question on T pieces using the APD Evolution as an example. When you exhale it travels in the hose to a T piece....your exhaled breath then goes into the exhalation bag and back up to the stack. My question is on the physical makeup of the T piece on the inside. Externally I can see it is a T, but internally? Thank you. Jason |

Basically the section you see inside in the middle forms a kind of wall between the two sides, this acts as a water trap so any water in the breathing hoses is forced into the lungs and does not continue round the loop. you can then (depending on the CCR) purge the water from the lungs, in the Megs case by using the OPV that is located near the bottom of the lung Cheers Chriso

| NA ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Basic T piece makeup Thanks Chris....I've read about the EVO's watertraps at the T pieces, and you would think that would make sense...but noooooooooo...it takes your pictures. ![]() If that stop wasnt there the water could go straight to the scrubber bypassing the inhale bag. ![]() |

Yep thats the plan. ![]() There are lots of different ways to do it as you can see the PRISM for example does not use a T piece at all but instead the loop to and from the mouth enters the lung in the front, but the loop to the head enters and exits from the back of the lung. Cheers Chriso

No comment, its Christmas![]() Does anyone have photos of the other OTS CCR's Optima , Vision Inspo/Evo did they change from the classic? Would be nice to see them all side by side. Cheers Chriso

Incidentally, you can see from the Prism px that the ADV/dil add is right next to the inhale port, which gives you direct access to clean gas, it's the only CCR that has this placement. It's also the only one that places the manual O2 and dil add buttons in very different parts of the CLs-dil add up high right by inhale hose and O2 add down at the bottom and on the side of the exhale CL. Makes them hard to get mixed up in an emergencey. More excelent design... |
