Bill stone J2 video and “mark VI” rebreather

Just watched the video of the J2 2006 expedition (extremely interesting, highly recommended 1 hour video )

Journey Towards The Center Of The Earth - Google Video

In the video Bill Stones mentions that the are “working with a company” for a “mark VI” of their rebrather that will be out on "January 2007". It will be the “size of a briefcase” with a “3 hour duration at 60 meters”

Any one has any more info on that???

Cis-Lunar issued a press release 6 months ago indicating they have teamed up with Stone and Bishop and a Swedish copmpany as the new manufacturing entity and would be bringing back Cis Products although not the MkVP.

Oceanic is supposed to be introducting a CCR this DEMA that unsubstantiated rumor has it will have real C02 monitoring and will not relase gas upon ascent....hey, ike I said, the runmor mill is spinning wildly....

CO2 monitoring is interesting and challenging.... far more 'challenging' is the latter part. Does it come with a magic wand?

Maybe it comes with an in-built compressor to squeeze the dil back into the cylinders. Now that would be a cool technology - you'd only ever need to top up the dil cylinder if you cleared your mask!!

wouldn't you end up with more than you started and an ever incresing mix O2 wise?

Bet they still haven't got the tea valve though. Would you rather have the onboard compressor or a gobblin' teasmaid (very old British dirty joke, meaningless to foreigners)

It could be an O2 rebreather that you come up really really really really really really really slowly on.

Nah, of course you wouldn't - if the technology exists to fit and power a scavenging compressor into a back mounted Rebreather package, the ability to filter out the excess O2 and CO2 should be a walk in the park!

I had some contact with the company that will build the "new" CIS..
They said that nothing can be revealed yet for patent (is that a word in english?)reasons.Promised news in january and the machine is coming sooner rather than later...and they promise spectacular features...
I am really looking forward to its arrival..
