Below 170 ft ? or 170m ?

Well 55h BUT then at 95h on the unit I realised I was discovering new things on Boris or maybe realising that at 55h I pushed a bit the limit and was not ready with Boris to do what have done ...

Having said that at nearly 200h on the unit I'm still learning !

Will try my best not to turn complescent

Do you have an oversized scrubber? Or the standard scrubber. Thought Boris was only rated 4 or 5 hours on standard scrubber.

Normal scrubber size

Boris is indeed CE approuved for 3-4h

BUT do remember that on deco (7-8h of the dive, in compare of usually 1h30 max of exploration) we are not making a lot of physical exercize, therefore not producing a lot of CO2 (except when I'm shivering because the suit is flooded and the heating jacket is not working )

so in theory you could push a little bit the CE scrubber time BUT DON'T DO IT YOU ARE GONNA KILL YOURSELF AND HAVE A CO2 HIT !!!!!

What were some of the finer points you discovered around the 95th hour that made you reflect?

Don't quite remember, 'cause that was more than 105 hours ago sorry

But roughly I was still piloting the Boris like my old Mk15.5, I was not enough using the different possibilities offered by the advance interaction of the Ouroboros.

Nowadays on every dive (shallow, deep, explo ...) I'm trying to repeat at least one skill, it's easy to say but not always easy to do, sometimes I cannot resist to the charm of the cave (different colors, shapes, textures ...) and I completly forget that I'm diving a Rebreather

Buena note

Jerome

Is that the longest you've pushed the scrubber? Have you pushed it that long before? I hope you had bailout option. Man, that's long on a scrubber. I've heard of 10hrs on a Prism. Long Long time..

Re: -180m Ouroboros "Goul du Pont" Cave (Fr)

Used to do 12h on my old 15.5

But lets not get fool, nobody have the mathematical equation for the scrubber duration, we need:

Max depth / water temp / depth / physical activity / Co2 / grains size / scrubber canister type as radial or axial or tower radial or donut axial / kg of sorb / well packed badly packed / etc etc ...

Look forward to see the technology in 10 years

I just can't wait to see a CO2 monitor come out. Other then a temp stick. LOL

Pushing them that long to me is kinda risky. I've had a CO2 hit a couple times. It isn't always the same. Industry I worked in when 20 had regular incidents of it. Anybody on that job got them. Got to see a lot of different ones. Easy to get out of though. Lot of people quit after the first week. Couple people looked at the job and quit right there. LOL...

If you're comfortable doing it. It's fine. Be safe. And as long as you have a way out. I'd feel comfortable with a Rebreather bailout. Or just use 2. Dual meg or such....
