![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | "Goul de la Tannerie" stunning video this footage has been done last sunday in the goul de la tannerie in france (ardčche). the deep portion of the cave begins some 700m away from the entrance. this resurgence was explored in 2004 by sylvain redoutey down to -209m and thanks this video we can repeat that dive down to -180 some 1000m into the cave sitting at our desks ! |

Difficult to tell from the footage but does the "deep" part really go straight down, I only ask because I could hear the scooter running and wouldn't thought you'd need to scooter down (unless there is lots of flow?) (I'm not a caver BTW) Thanks for posting. |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: "Goul de la Tannerie" stunning video ben, for what xavier wrote on a pm he used the scooter to be very fast even when descending and he reported that the shaft is not always descending straight forward and has small slopes. further let's not forget that using a scooter enables the diver to fix on it the camera housing and the lights he needs to make the footage. another advantage of scootering in great dephts is that you reduce the dcs risks, in fact his dive lasted only for some 4h. |

Now if only every "record breaking" deep cave diver would include that last shot of their VR3 or whatever BT / computer they were using (X1 maybe?), we'd all be a lot happier... ![]() ![]()
