For example, the new KISS PO2 meters have curve display to magnify the numbers. HH has the same. |

I guess you could always have a matching curved face on the perspex -could even have a couple of elastic loops to help keep it on the display

Also, once you have a tube with curve surface, you can't use it on both the curved PO2 display and on (say) a SPG... |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | 4th cell VR£ might help. Backlit and you could get that close to your mask. If this is likely to happen a lot, you could fill the small indent of the screen with an acrylic resin ("still water" or "acrylic water"). A bit excessive, but maybe more robust than bags of water if needed. I think the original question was more to do with the ascent based on not being able to see. I guess you have the SCR option or bailing out. Or trust your handsets to work... (Caveat: Newbie!)

| Proper Boffin ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | I read something recently about a blind CCR diver, he'd apparently had his unit modified by AP to give him a series of different audible warnings to let him know the performance of the unit, perhaps this is an option that could be made available to more people? Either that, or PPO2 displays working little pins on a braille system. |

Actually it would be an excellent solution if it could be turn on/off at will. That way, when diving the system in OW or non-silty locations, you could turn it off to save the massive headache from the constant noise. But when in a silt-out situation, turn it on. The only problem with that is not getting used to recognizing the signal (i.e. different beeping means different things) until needed... ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | I'd oftened wondered what the attraction of diving if blind was as it is such a visual-based sport, but to be fair blind is a sliding scale and a lot of people have some vision. Sorry, tangent, ahem... Yes, as Phi says it is a CK and has no solenoid so that option is out. Hammerhead... er, no ta... VR£, not likely, I was reluctant to spend £30 on the 12yr old Aladin I bought recently. Actually, the other diver I mentioned in my original post who had the total light failure did in fact find his way out by using the backlight on his VR£. I was impressed, it's a lot of money just for a back-up torch though I chose the KISS because it was minimal so I don't really want to go complicating it. Squeaky noises...? Noooo... I have a slice of perspex rod somewhere that I used for reading my OC gauges so that may be the answer. On the old CK (like mine), the display faceplate is flat so it would work.Coming off the loop in blind conditions isn't something I fancy as one of the reasons I bought the Rebreather was the massive gas endurance in such situations as opposed to OC. I suppose, thinking about it, you would just manage it as a handset failure. |
