![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Diluent leak into loop Now i'm on the fence and determined to learn, com hell or high water, to service as much of my gear as i can. It's just totally impractical to drive all the way to woodinville or send the units to the UK every time there is a little problem... particularly once we are in indonesia in march. Anyone in the seattle area know how to service an ADV and is willing to show me? It would be greatly appreciated. Or if you have an inspo or evo and are willing to send me some photos and instructions, i'd be forever greatful. Frankly, i'd fly to the UK to take a course on if only it was offered. Hi Gill-You better watch out! It starts with just simple, standard gear checks. Insidiously, it progresses to regular maintenance. Then you find yourself fixing some simple broken part. One day you say to yourself “this could be done just a bit better if the part just did xxxxx”. You make it do the xxxxx by crafting some simple alteration. Oh NO!!!!! You’ve just taken the first tumble down that unrecoverable slippery slope towards becoming a (GASP!!!!!!) HOMEBUILDER!!!!!!! ![]() Smile! It only feels weird for a little while. Very best, Ken

![]() | Re: Diluent leak into loop I am one of several who feel suitably ticked off I wouldn't dream of ticking you (and others) off!!! Hope this qualifies as a more helpful answer from one comparative newbie to one a month away from his course. Charlie thanks for the comprehensive reply. Hmm - flowstops, advs - seems like a bit a can of worms. How do you feel about Dave's suggestion of losing the flowstop altogether? John |

John It makes life easier during difficult dives just as a Metalsub HID 200 does. Saturday was a difficult dive and an ADV and a really bright torch helped. They both made my dive a little easier so I'll keep both thanks Charlie |

They are simple to strip and clean - just a sleeve and some holes. Worth giving them a scrub every now and then to keep them working well. They do leak otherwise, if they are really dirty.

When Martin Robson of Eau Zone fitted my Agir s/s backplate and one piece harness, I asked him to lower the position of the flowstop. They are simple to strip and clean - just a sleeve and some holes. Worth giving them a scrub every now and then to keep them working well. They do leak otherwise, if they are really dirty. I can now easily reach it, before it was nigh impossible! Charlie |
