Nice little reminder, thanks.
Final learning point came from my buddy who's been reading my copy of "The Beckoning Silence" by Joe Simpson. The author tells how several of his mates had died climbing (sadly the same true in my sphere operations) - more poignant was that they had all come a cropper on easy climbs.

I think that you know what I mean.

Hi Duncan,

That's the Touching The Void guy yeah?

Complacency is a killer.

None of us are beyond screwing up, I have adopted the same approach on CCR since I first used them in 1989.

Just before I descend, I have a good look around and say to myself

'Have a good look, because if you are not on top of your game, you will never see this again.'

I always remember that today could be the day I drown...............

Cheers,

Dave Cooper.

I just demonstrate the operation of the OC/CC switch on the KISS, and tell them if I tox out or appear unresponsive, to turn the knob and do a CBL to the surface. I also tell them about doing a bubble check at 6m. I also tell them that if they need gas, to pull my stage bottle reg. Thats all. No point in blinding them with science.

Yes Duncan, that's why I believe those little reminders have such bg importance.

John, true words.
