Marty,

Saw this link, doesn't really supply any info other than the fact it was an instructor testing dive equipment alone in the pool. Condolences to his family and friends.

An OC instructor friend of his says they're calling it a heart attack.

She also says as far as she knows, he was on OC and not an Rebreather. **edited** as I don't want to start or promulgate unsubstantiated rumors.

This may well be true in this case as it is reported on the dive accidents group that the victim was (allegedly) seriously ill at the time.

Always sad news.

I think you are mixing up two diffrent accidents. I knew david, he was a nice guy. OW instructor. Did not do much in the tec arena to the best of my knowledge. Have not spoken with him in a while. This has been a real crappy year I have lost more than one friend in these last 3 months. In somber times I tend to be a bit philosophical, so I try and refrain from posting my opinions on accidents

Yep you are right, apologies, I misread the title on the next message up from the Rebreather incident on the accidents site. It makes sad reading, there seems to be a new report posted every day.

JOHN,
MY UNDERSTANDING IS THAT IT WAS AN AZIMUTH, BUT THAT IS NOT CONFIRMED, AND NO OTHER PARTICULARS ARE YET AVAILABLE.
