![]() ![]() | Rebreather death in Ginnie yesterday Does anyone know anything about this post, Who was the diver? I have talked to a couple of people who wanted to make that push...and I would hate for it to be one of them!!! Thanks to the crew who had the terrible task of recovering our brother from the depths. Condolences to the diver's family and friends. Lance

![]() | Re: Fatality in Devil's Eye Spring... Report from the recovery divers is that the Meg he was using was TOTALLY flooded, one of his onboard O2 bottles (the one driving the solenoid) was empty, and that both his offboard 100 cu. ft. 'dil bottles were both empty. He was found just inside a restriction at 3900', heading out, withing 10 ft. or so of an staged emergency bottle, one of three in the cave. |

Im afraid to say I have to echo Micha's sentiment here. For seemingly valid reasons a lot of reports never make it into the public doman and valuable data/lessons are lost. Hopefully this one will be different.I am curious if really a report will come out.... He was found just inside a restriction at 3900', heading out, withing 10 ft. or so of an staged emergency bottle, one of three in the cave. Whoa, thats the nightmare scenario.....

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Fatality in Devil's Eye Spring... Out of the respect for the victim and his family I think it is grossly inappropriate to leak bits and pieces of info from the recovery team. Wait for the full IUCC report to be released to the cave community with the verifiable facts.
