| Going Down? ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Checklist Usage? I am just curious about this. How many CCR divers are using a checklist to setup, predive, and prebreathe their units? How much experience with the unit if not using one? It was not very long ago that one of my buddies discovered that he didn't have a bailout tank on the dive. Fortunately this was on the boat after the dive and there was never a need to bailout. BUUUUUUT what if? I used a checklist, He did not.

| Who loves ya, baby ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Checklist Usage? Ditto. Did it with the PRISM, which comes with a check list. You can find it in the back of Bozanic's "Mastering Rebreathers", he lifted it straight from the SMI owner's manual. So did I, and laminated it, both pre- and post dive check lists. Do it with the Sport Kiss, too, the check list for that comes from ANDI's training course. I actually have two check lists for the Kiss, the second one is from TDI I believe. I like the idea of checking off items on the list, makes for consistent pre- and post dive protocol, and takes the load off my mind. Next to impossible to forget something, just insures I'm thorough. Seems like a simple way to be off to a good start, and I like simple.

Also includes everything I have to get of non-ccr gear like coffe, money, the works. At divesite the rEvo-setup is so simple that I do without. But as a new diver I am very much focused on the Rebreather, so much that I went overboard in a picture perfect setup, everything was good - with no fins Nicolai

How much experience with the unit if not using one? I DON'T... (did receive a laminated card on my MOD 1), but I have a fixed routine for preparing & testing my unit. I also check I have all my kit, unit, weights, stages, wet box (mask fins etc.) & dry bag (drysuit, undersuit, etc) or 5 major groups that I can count on one hand!Works for me.... been diving unit for coming up to 3 years. | Rebreather World Writer ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Checklist Usage? yo I found my own way of setting up my unit but always use my check list, every time. At times I have people talk to me why I set up my unit and then it helps me a lot when going back to setup to see where I left off and what is still to be done. I believe a check list is a must do. Complacency kills. Matt |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | This is a very good poll to do! I do for assembly, each and every time. And, with my apologies to the Tasmanian forests, I don't use a laminated card, I use a paper list, and date it so if needs be, I can go back (and I really hope it's ME who does) to see if I f***ed up in assembly when something goes wrong. It not only records my assembly in a sequential format, but also scrubber time, gas pressure and contents, and cell calibration if needed / readouts. Also bailout, suit inflation connection, etc. etc. Even if I packed the business end of the P-valve system! And have some green, mate!
