| Despotic Overlord ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | First bailout out...and a bit of a trip report.... Well last weekend went down to Poole in the UK for 2 days diving with www.jadiving.co.uk Weather was perfect and the sea like a mill pond. I had lent my booster pump to someone on the Thursday so only had about 180 bar of o2 no biggy I thought will have about 4 1 hour dives so no chance of going through it all. Saturday went well, and on Sunday Sarah and I met up with 2 other Meg divers - Gadget (Si) and Julie and the token inspiration diver - under pressure (Nige).Sarah's dad was with us too so Sarah was diving with her dad, Si was with Julie and I was with Nige. Well it was a sweltering day, mill pond calm and sooo sunny. Which resulted in me putting sun cream on! *groans* that is right you guessed it - no mask seal as a result of lashings of sun cream! So down we go and I am fluffing about regularly clearing my mask and going through dil and o2 like it is going out of fasion (only 30 metres). In hind site I shoudl have called the dive when I got down to 20 bar but we had just discovered this monstor lobster which we were determined to bring up for tea.... 10 minutes later....with 10 bar left and 5 mins of stops I think perhaps I should meander back to the shot! So up the shot I go....get to 9 metres hmm under 5 bar now! Oh well lets bailout to the stage only 3 minutes of stops....and pow this turns into 20 mins on air....grrrrrr! Oh did I forgot to mention I had bagged up both weights from the shot on both days so only had 130 bar of air in the stage too! Well any way no drama and it was a nice little practice bailing out, swapping computers over and then hanging about for 20 minutes getting bored... Other plus was discovered my weighting method and the maths works....was perfectly weighted and had no probs holding the 3m stop.... I learnt a fair few lessons from it and just thought I would share with you all! Stuart |

Could it be the first symptoms of slight complacency starting to show up?In hind site I shoudl have called the dive when I got down to 20 bar but we had just discovered this monstor lobster which we were determined to bring up for tea.... | Despotic Overlord ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Shearwater running 10 / 90 GF and a HS explorer on conservitism 1. Shearwater cleared much sooner than the Explorer for the dive but I woud have expected that as we did the shallow drift dive (15 m) in the morning and then the wreck dive (30 m) in the afternoon and RGBM penalises you severly for reverse profiles. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Next time I think its possible to plumb into the other Meg diver at your stop. You might be able to keep a pretty high PO2 and cut down that stop time. |
