Lightbulb Article about Sidemount configuration

Hi all,

Just to let you know that published a new article about Sidemount Configuration for rebreather divers:

http://www.rebreatherworld.com/rebre...html#post56001

You can also find a .pdf version on my website at: www.cedricverdier.com/articles.html

It could also be interesting to know who's using a sidemount kit and which one...

Cheers

Re: Article about Sidemount configuration

Another nice one Cedric!

I second that the Golem CCR side-mount kit is very nice.

I also had thought about making my own when the photos came out, But after having bought a set, my effort definitely wouldn't have been as nice since it is more than simply be able to sew thick webbing.

Re: Article about Sidemount configuration

Nice article Cedric!

I have one question about the tank on the right side. Does it interfere or make life harder considering the lamp canister?

I have never used stages on the right side, allways all on left side.

Re: Article about Sidemount configuration

I switched to an artmadillo system aftem looking at mike in the red sea.

Love the way the unit dives in the water and no clutter around the front.

only problem i have is havent got the knack of putting on my cylinders yet. also not sure how you work out the correct length of bungee and were it fits around the valve and neck of the tank.

I certiatly will not switch back.

I do not cave dive this is how i dive my rig for open water.

Re: Article about Sidemount configuration

Thanks for taking the time to write up your thoughts Cedric. I've been looking at the sidemount kit for some time now. I have two questions.

(1) does it work as well when you're only carrying one tank?

(2) does the tank on the RHS interfere with the canister torch mounted on the waist strap?

Cheers

Rich

Re: Article about Sidemount configuration

Hi all,

To answer your questions about the Armadillo Sidemount kit, it doesn't interfere at all with the canister light. The right handside tank is along the canister light, not in front of it, so easy acces.

For the bungee loops, they are simply put around the tank valve and keep everything tight.

Cheers

Re: Article about Sidemount configuration

I'm sure that they'll ship internationally, however, I fly to the US about once a month.

We could always have a few delivered to my office in CT, and then I can mail them out around Europe?

Cheers
