| S21 M.I.B. ![]() ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Hi, Is there anybody who had the opportunity to read "Tek Closed Circuit Rebreather", the new IANTD book written by Tom Mount, David Sawatzky, Joerg Hess? I guess it's already available in the US (http://www.diveriteexpress.com/rebreathers/books.shtml) so if anybody got any comments about this book, I'm quite sure that would be very interesting for people living in remote areas like me... ![]() Cheers Stuart, BTW that would make a good new forum: members' comments about rebreather related books, DVDs and videos. Just an idea! ![]()

| Go Nude Or Go Home Current Rebreather/s: | Yep I got a copy last week, It is 79 pages and half that is pretty pics of different breathers. Chapter 1: reads like putting together a Dive Plan all the equations and some dive planning work slates, pre dive, S Drills, bailout gasses ect. Chapter 2: are O2 & the diver, it’s a tough section to get through Chapter 3: is CO2 & the diver, makes for some good reading Chapter 4: covers Absorption, this is a really good section and covers off every question you could ever ask on Sorb, goes into all the equations with lots of pretty graphs Chapter 6: Covers equipment, Its a bit light on Chapter 7: Are Accidents and at 5 pages I think it could have been expanded on. Overall not a bad read Cheers Chris

You're a thinking diver! ![]() The chapters on CO2 and absorbant are by Jörg Hess and should make very good reading judging by the articles I read by him on absorbtion and monitoring.

| Custom Title Allowed! Current Rebreather/s: | I just finished reading the old Halcyon/IANTD PVR BASC rebreather manual by Jack Kellon, Tom Mount and other and I thought it was a great manual. -lots of usefull info I never came across before -discussions on passive scr vs active scr vs ccr with pros and cons -when to use a 'breather and when not to -who should use breathers and which personality types shouldn't -a chapter of short takes by different, very experienced people giving do's and dont's What was strange is that the book gives a short history of rebreathers and then jumps straight into the "thick of things" so much so that I wonder if it's meant to follow onto a more basic course... rgds monty |
