| How to disassemble focuasable Halcyon 10w HID lighthead Hi Rebreather World On the last dive I did, I notised some condensation on the wrong side of the glass on my Halcyon HID divelight. I have screwed of the front of the light and removed the glass and o-ring to inspect this, and everything looks ok. My attention has now turned to the focus adjustment knob. It is hard to twist and I suspect that the o-ring needs to be checked. Can anyone give me a hint how to disassemble this without using a hammer and a blowtourch? Thanks... /Christian |

| Re: How to disassemble focuasable Halcyon 10w HID lighthead I had a problem with my Halcyon 18W helios HID light. bulb would flicker but would not light up. I was not sure if it was the bulb or the ballast. I also had some condensation inside the test tube. I contacted Corey at Halcyon, he told me some condensation was normal. My problem ended up being a bad bulb. I did sent into Halcyon for a check up to be safe. Excellent service. | Customise Me! Current Rebreather/s: | Re: How to disassemble focuasable Halcyon 10w HID lighthead Hi Christian. You start from the front by removing the glass by first removing the metal-clip in the recess the keeps the glass in place. Then, using 2 spanners, you untighten the nut in the rear. Under this nut you have an oring that seals against the cable, and you can now push the bulb+ballast out through the front of light head. Be carefull not to rotate the one closest to the head (or you will need some teflon tape to reseal). If you look inside the head now, behind the ballast, you can se another metal-clip that holds the turning knob in place. To remove. this you require a special tool or two flat screwdrivers and a lot of patience ![]() I would recommend, that you start by checking the oring that seals against the cable, before you find a way to remove the turning knob...
