![]() | Problems with TDL O2 - HE analyzer Back in January I bought a TDL Tek Check O2 - HE Analyzer. I could not get a consistent O2 reading it seemed whenever I moved it to analyze other cylinders I would get varying degrees of discrepancy comparing readings to my mini Ox. Then I recalibrated the Tek Check to 20.9 laying flat, next I held the unit vertically and the reading increased to 22.5 to 23, next I held it upside down and the reading increased to 26 to 27. I thought it may be a bad sensor or a problem with the circuit board. I contacted TDL they said to send it back it was probably the sensor. Well I received the unit from being repaired and it is still doing the same thing. TDL did not give a report of the tests or repairs that may have been performed. Today I removed the unit from the case to see if I could isolate the problem. Removing the sensor from the holder moving it in several different positions the results were similar to above. (see pictures) I unplugged the sensor thinking that the digital reading would 0 out instead it went to a -30 then to -70. (see pictures) My conclusion is the sensor is bad, although I question why the digital reading did not 0 out when unplugged, and went from -30 then to -70. I hope this is an isolated incident, although I am concerned because the unit was not repaired properly the 1st time and leads me to believe that there may be other units acting the same way. I am encouraging that anyone that has this analyzer to check it. Please post your results to determine if mine is an isolated problem. I have not had a problem with TDL and or their service and I am sure they will fix mine. For some reason I cannot attach pictures so you can go to Deco Stop under the same title. Jeff Milbrath |
