| Going Down? ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Gettin' the Shaft from Dive Rite This post is about me getting pissed off at Dive Rite for having my drysuit for 4 weeks. I know that it is a warranty thing and they probably don't care about it since there isn't any profit to be made. The suit was only a couple of months old when the boots ripped/cracked open. How f**kin long does it take to fix this problem. I live in Florida and Dive Rite is in Florida, not a lot of shipping time involed in this either. The Folks at DRE are doing everything they can, but they can't seem to get a straight answer from Dive Rite. I spent a f**kin fortune to buy my Dive Rite Optima. If this is any indication of their customer service, I may as well sell it and buy Mempilots meg. OK my rant is over now. What has your experience been with Dive Rite's customer service? Are they fair? What about turn around times?

I had a leaky Rec Wing. Contacted DR, they said it would cost $75 USD to fix. I sent it in, was contacted about a week later saying they couldn't repair it as it was the older Sonoform one. They said for $100.00 total they would send me a new wing. Received it within the week. So I'd say my interaction was +

Always had great service. Nevertheless, I understand your frustration. I happen to know that the person who handles some of those repairs is on vacation for some time now, and that might have created some problem. But what do I know, it could be something else! I hope you get your suit back asap. Best, Zé. |

My DUI has been back to the Australian Distributor for the third set of wrist seals......The first set lasted 5 weeks before they showed signs they were perished. The second set only 2 weeks........ And it's still not back either!!! Lance

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Gettin' the Shaft from Dive Rite I have also never had any problems with Dive Rite's customer service. I had an original Nitek3 dive computer close to three years and it out of ranged in my car, they REPLACED it FREE!! I have my original Classic Sonoform wing, it developed a problem a couple years after I got it. (material tearing away from dump area). They repaired it FREE. I still dive it now on 12 or so years. I have had several customers who have had problems and all their issues were repaired or replaced for free or a very nominal charge. Bar none, IMO, there just is no other scuba company who does customer service better. No, I don't agree agree with everything they do, but as far as CS, they are the best I have ever dealt with. Now OMS is the polar opposite, almost non existent CS, lots of bull. I have lots of dissatisfied customers from them, as well as a few other suppliers. Dale |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Gettin' the Shaft from Dive Rite That's OK - at least some get customer service. I had a small leak in one bladder on my DR superwing. The Australian distributor told me that it was unrepairable, as once a DR wing is disassembled, it can't be put back together. Therefore, I had to pony up the full retail price for a new one - AU$1400 at the time. The leak took all of 2 minutes to fix... myself. DR should be ashamed to have this sort of representative.

| DE/MD/NJ Wreck Diver ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Gettin' the Shaft from Dive Rite I have nothing but good things to say about DR Customer Service.... Any issues with their products were handled quickly and exceeded my expectations. It's one of the reasons I went with the O2ptima. Drysuit repairs aren't rocket science. Any repair, if the materials & technicians are available can be done in a day or two. I suspect that DR doesn't do the repairs in house and whoever they are using is hanging the process up. Not an excuse, but they certainly should communicate that to you. Try calling DR directly to see what's going on. Richie |

| Going Down? ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Gettin' the Shaft from Dive Rite I have just returned to the world of internet. My drysuit was delivered to Fill Express during my absence. It seems that there was just an aweful lot of miscommunication between all parties involved. Dive Rite squared things away very quickly after the original post was made.

| Rebreather World Writer ![]() Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Gettin' the Shaft from Dive Rite yo I am glad it worked all out. I had only good experiences with Dive Rite considering I am not living in the U.S. and shipping is a pain in th ebut, but nothing DR can do about. The only issue with their dry suits we have down here was the glue keeping it all together vanished after some 200 - 500 dives but it seemed to happen only here in Mexican freshwater. Even so, we had the suits replaced and given new suits with different glue to test. greetings Matt |
