This is not a Baby Wipe

but it sounds great for killing bugs on rebreathers, and possibly divers. I'm no Dr.

Re: This is not a Baby Wipe

hate to break it to ya steve, but they are baby wipes.

the active ingredient is aka Benzethonium Chloride, is similarly found in antibacterial wipes manufactured by Playtex Infant Care Products (Wet Ones). You can even get different flavours.

Re: This is not a Baby Wipe

We've been using Microban QGC in 2 oz/gal dilution or less to disinfect the loop hoses, counterlungs, and dsvs. Picked up some free samples at DEMA from their booth. It's used in food preperation areas to steralize all types of surfaces, materials, and utensils. It's much easier to use than Virkon and can be stored for long periods without losing it's properties (ie. Virkon).

It can be diluted and then used to soak, sprayed via an atomizer, or rubbed on via a cloth.

One small sample bottle has lasted 6 months and can be purchased by the gallon if desired.

Funny, Rely-On (Virkon) MSDS doesn't look like this one from Microban QGC....

I think I'll stick with Rely-On....

Richie

Richie,

That is if you drink the concentrate.

Chew on a Virkon tablet and see what happens.

I just happen to have both here. Let me read you the label on Virkon. (RelyOn)

DANGER

Hazards to humans and domestic animals.

Powder is corrosive. Causes skin burns and irreversible eye damage. Harmful if swallowed, absorbed through the skin, or inhaled. Do not get in eyes, on skin, or clothing. Yadayadayad.....

Toss a Virkon tablet in your aquarium and see what the fish do.

Re: This is not a Baby Wipe

Just so everyone understands this:

MSDS has to do with the form in which it is sold or transported. ie concentrated form.

When diluted to proper strength, these are all used in food preperation and hospital sterilization. Let's not cause a panic here.
