Looking for a recommendation for a primary torch

Must have's:
  • Be switched on at the head, not the battery pack
  • Battery pack small enough to clip to a backplate
  • Minimum 90 mins burn time
No preference of HID over LED - just interested in hearing what torches you are using that fit these criteria.

Thanks
Jamie

Re: Looking for a recommendation for a primary torch

I would suggest a salvo, but they turn on at the battery pack?

Otherwise I only three that turn on at the head, fami, greenforce and metalsub. OK torches but not as bright as the salvo.

Thanks, had a Salvo, does indeed turn on at the pack.

Currently have a Sartek - prefer it to the salvo, but also turns on at the pack.

Re: Looking for a recommendation for a primary torch

Maybe GreenForce / TillyTec have something for you?. Personally, I attach my battery on the right side of my YBOD. If you can live with such a solution you should have a look at Metalsub HID200.

Re: Looking for a recommendation for a primary torch

solus 500 or 1000

great led head, good beam,
fantastic burn time ( i think it is 2.5 hrs on full pwoer and 4 hrs on half)

basically indistructable, far less sensitive than HID thats for sure.

If you search teh archieve i think there was a write up a while ago.

Contact Carl at Sartek. They have a head that has a switch. I suppect he could retrofit it to your current unit.

I just sold a Sartek 13/21 watt HID that met your criteria and had the switch on the head to turn on and change output.
