Hi,

I have never tried Seacure before as I have Apeks Comfort Bite, but here's a question for those who have tried both. Is the comfort level higher using Seacure? Another question, anyone is using it with the Inspiration unit?

Best Regards. Wael
I find my jaw is in a more natural position than the Apeks mouthpiece. I also find there is less water leakage round my lips as my jaw muscles aren't getting tired.

It really has to be the high flow version, I put a standard one on and the increase in WOB is massive.

Re: Jaw Fatigue

Hi,

How is the Seacure Pro II - does it also fit the Golem BOV? I saw it on a webpage as "Golem BOV" compatible....

I used to use the II nbefore III came out, but it required careful molding and removal of the yellow ring. Not recommended when III is available.

Re: Jaw Fatigue

Hi,

Does anyone know which Seacure model fits the Divematics BOV? I have just ordered the BOV and I'm considering of giving the Seacure a try. Would appreciate some tips.

On which note, a quick question. I'd like to get a gag strap and I've seen these around a few times Dräger Mundstück mit Kopfband | Online Shop | W+S Water Safety Europe GmbH | Seit 1999. Does anyone know whether these will fit a KISS BOV? Any positive or negative experiences?

The main driver is in case of a tox, but reducing fatigue and the risk of having that huge BOV (especially now it has the Proton on it) kicked out of my gob would be nice side effects.

Cheers,
These come standard on rEvo units and will fit the Pelagian BOV as well. The gag strap is great for keeping the DSV/BOV in place and I've never had jaw fatique using it. I would highly recommend it.

I would be interested to hear any views on the balance of risk between wearing a head strap to help retain the BOV mouthpiece in the event of a blackout vs the additional difficulty of switching to bailout following a caustic cocktail.

Re: Jaw Fatigue

Rotating the hose a bit prior to clamping or connecting helped a lot for me. (and easy to do even during a dive if you have the KISS QC's) This way the rotation strain will work against gravity/current.
Another contribution that I'm very happy with is the JAX mouthpiece...

I've had to bail out while using this system and its very easy to remove the DSV/BOV. Anyone who has a rEvo can tell you about it since bail out scenarios are part of the training. Just pull the DSV/BOV out of your mouth and up - the gag strap will come off the top of your head, its not a problem and is done very quickly. It can be a lifesaver if you take a hit since it will keep the DSV/BOV in your mouth - hopefully your buddy will either flush your loop or turn your BOV lever to OC and bring you up.
