![]() | Heated Under Vests Hi all, Just wondering if any of you have had any experience with heated under vests? I've recently moved from Sydney to LA and to say that the water's a bit colder here would be a massive understatement! O3 HUV, Typhoon Icebreaker, Golem Gear Q-Vest. Any others? Pros/cons? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Mike. |

![]() ![]() | Re: Heated Under Vests I put one together myself. It's not too hard at all. Take a normal motorcycle heating vest, mine is ZeroFactor, take either an Impulse or EO bulkhead connector for the suit, and put the mating connector on a canister and you're set. For the water temps you'd be seeing in L.A., you really shouldn't need one though, unless you're doing epic dives. I think that a good set of underwear, dry gloves and a thick hood would do you better. I don't use mine unless I'm spending more than 60 minutes under the ice. |

I'm looking at three hour plus run times and a Weezle Extreme +, two polypropolene tops and argon just isn't cutting it. My drysuit's a shell and I really don't want to have to go to crushed neoprene. On the weekend it was 10 degrees Celcius on the bottom and 12 on deco, and I hate uncontrollable shivering!!!!!!!!!Take a normal motorcycle heating vest, mine is ZeroFactor, take either an Impulse or EO bulkhead connector for the suit, and put the mating connector on a canister and you're set. We regularly dive in 8 degree Celcius water. Without dry gloves the dive time limit is about 70 minutes. There after your hands are so numb that you can't get them to do anything. When you surface into 30 Degree sunlight they start to burn like crazy as they come back to lifeMike. .I dive a shell (i.e. tri-lam) suit and with a 300gr undersuit and my body is nice and toasty. Imprerative is a warm hoody (5mm) and dry gloves! Cheers Nick |

Just my two cents... M |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Heated Under Vests Hi all, I use to have the Typhoon but had some issues with wires breaking at the drysuit plugs, also temperature was just OK but you can not change it, also burntime is just around 60minutes. I have now changed to the Golem Q-Vest and it is great. No need for special hole since you just change your drysuit injection valve. THe vest can be turned OFF-ON from the battery as well as 3 different level. I use mainly level 1 and 2. 3 is really hot and will only use it for 1-2 minutes when I need to roast a bit more... Really great vest. The battery pack is given for about 3 hours obviously depending on the level selected. I did not had the opportunity to do much testing on the burntime yet.Just wondering if any of you have had any experience with heated under vests?
