![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: QC6 to LP hose adaptor I think I read somewhere in the Kiss forum that the threading of the Swagelok tube fitting nut is 9/16. If it's true you want to get the QCs with Swagelok tube fitting, no nut no ferrule needed as you will screw that directly into the 9/16 end of the LP hose. Now, I never did it. Best Philippe |

Looks like a male straight thread with an O-Ring seal? Note as advice: If anyone buys QC-6's, do yourself a HUGE favor and DO NOT BUY THEM WITH TUBE FITTINGS. Buy them with 1/4 NPT female threads. You will make them a LOT easier and less expensive to adapt to. Trust me here. I've spend many hours trying to adapt peoples QC-6t's to their rigs and it all would have taken a few seconds to do if they were simply the right connector to begin with. They can be bought any way you like, and the correct ones are less expensive than the tube fitting ones. Really, what I would recommend for you is to buy the tube to female NPT adapter and make this fitting "Female NPT" via the adapter (throw the other adapter in a box and save it for 'never'), and then we can make it fit anything with great ease. The 9/16 fitting does have the same thread as a second stage feed hose, but the internal bore will not accept the hose end. It is a little thin to drill out for a direct connection. To fit regulator supply hoses to a 1/4 NPT female port, you buy a (brass) 1/4 male to 9/16-18 (welding oxygen hose) fitting, and then use a drill to drill out the flared interior of the 9/16-18 side a little. The second stage supply hose will then fit on and swivel. The parts cost less than US$1.00 anywhere welding parts are sold. If you have the QC-6 with the 1/4 NPT female port, you have just done what you need for a few cents and a minute of time. Dave .

If you already have a QC4/6 with tube fittings, the best is to use Swagelok PB4 hoses. A SS-PB4-TA4/6 to fit the QC4/6, the PB4 hose (comes in different colors) and on the other side, a reusable fitting like the one made by Omniswivel or Undersea UK. Or a SS-PB4-ST3 to go directly into a 3/8-24UNF port.
