Nice write-up mate! Any chance of a picture of the LEDs from the front please? I want to see what LEDs they're using.

Re: Solus SU 1250 LED torch on test

Solus makes indestructible stuff. I made some dives with the backup and the beam is impressive. But (there is always a but...) solus is expensive.
I also tried the tristar. I was not impressed when i compared it with my 10 watt hid custom divers.
Green force germany(tillytec) plays in another division. Tried the led 500 cable light. My hid was washed out, no question.
Whiter light, focused beam that cuts in the dirty water. And fully compatible with the green force system.
They also brought the new led 1000 (osram ostar) 1000 lumen in a single led and it's focusable.

And last but not least, they have a backup light wich runs with 3 AA batteries. More powerful than the barbolight U-15 older version (4 leds luxeon III +/- 300 lumens). I compared it myself. I was impressed.

Re: Solus SU 1250 LED torch on test

Hi,

The led 1000 in a divelamp is quite new; You'll find the news here:

TillyTec - Green Force | ein einzigartiges Lampensystem

The internet site is only in german. There is an english part but it's poor.

Here is another link but also in german.

News

Amazing light, really. It would be very very interesting to make a comparison between the led 1000 and the solus 1250.

Re: Solus SU 1250 LED torch on test

For the price,

Led 1000 lighthead: +/- 420 euros
Cable: +/-80 euros
TT2 battery (same as F2 from green force) with 3 hours burntime with led 1000: +/- 220 euros

Total: More or less 720 euros. It was the price for the Dusseldorf's boot but the manufacturer said it would be the price everywhere.
