![]() | Re: Vr3 Vs. X1 Hey there, In my mind, there is no contest. The X-1 is way superior to the VR-3.Can somebody already compare the VR3 with the X1??? Please only people who have dived both and not only read about them...thx. Cheers, Patrick With the X-1 and V-Planner, you plan your dive and dive your plan, that's it. No surprises or unexplained fudge factor. The display is so bright, it's almost blinding! Check out the difference in this short film Should we talk about costumer service? Try to write Delta-P! If you are lucky and they feel like it, they'll answer. Do you want to know why I did not buy an Ouroboros? I had a question about the X-1; within one our, I had answers from Ross ans Eric Fattah. Three of us who all own VR-3s grouped up the buy one X-1 and test dive it. After the first dive, we had ordered two more. They are expected at the LDS in less than a week.

![]() | Re: Vr3 Vs. X1 Marc, Great video. One quick question for you....how do you find the tap system to work with bulky dry gloves? Thanks, Kevin p.s. seeing the video of the quarry makes me realize that I am having diving withdrawals...I have not been there in 3 weeks. |

No matter how bulky your gloves are or how frozen your fingers are, you can still tap. It takes one or two minutes and you have it figured out.Mind you, I dive with smurf gloves but my buddies still use three finger mitts (go figure why they wish to do that ) and have no problem at all.It is a much better system than the buttons on the VR-3, the Nitek He or the Explorer that I have tried out. You can also configure the number and the intensity of the taps to your liking.

Hardly a comparison. I've never had an issue with my VR3, and have been happy with the customer service. I will be interested to see people's opinions of the X1 going forward, but won't fork out the cash for one anytime soon. Aloha, Charlie

![]() | Re: Vr3 Vs. X1 I have both, and the display is so much better on the X1, its not even funny. And yes, with backlight on on my Vr3 (not color) I am also seeing significant reduction in deco, typical 10-15 min less on the X1 after a 20min/70m dive. Anyone else seen that? -are you getting bendt ![]() jon o |

As for the VR3, ours work fine here in deep dark Switzerland, with the backlight on. I have never had a problem with the customer service from Delta-P, issues have always been dealt with rapidly and simply. I have said it before and I will say it again, I believe their customer service is second to none. However, I understand that we speak as we find. Just my two euro cents.... Cheers, Dave Cooper.

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Vr3 Vs. X1 I've also found DeltaP very helpful on the phone, but equally useless by email. I've had friends who have been stung horrifically for things like servicing and repairs. When you start looking at all the extra costs involved in owning a VR£ from scratch though, it adds up to a seriously expensive bit of kit, albeit tried and tested. That's understandable when there's no competition, but it's taking the p*ss now there are so many competitors doing as well and in many cases better. The VR£ with backlight working is fine in clear water, although I need to have it directly facing me otherwise my mask makes it difficult to read. The X1 is just blindingly good from all angles. A small example of where an X1 "shines"... (pun intended ) The VR£ was unreadable sitting next to it, but then the times you will be facing such vis are hopefully very rare. The VR£ is a good bit of kit. I think the X1 is better.![]()

My VR3 has been serving me well.I'm really interested in the X1, but it's useless to me at the moment, since there is no way to get the software onto it without using Micro$oft Windows (and I just refuse to do business with convicted felons). I don't even care about running the software on a laptop or desktop - just give me the ability to update the X1 with Solaris, Linux, Mac OS (how about a java app to load the software?). |
