The actual width is just a bit wider than the photo depicts, if you flatten out the wing. The photo shows about 23" top to bottom, and about 22" wide. Fully compressed the width is about 23" Tobin

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: DSS CCR-40 Wing Tobin had also sent me a wing to test dive and evaluate. Just a small follow up to this thread that illustrates excellent customer service from DSS. Tobin was kind enough to send me a de-branded shell for the wing to replace the one he'd sent me for testing. It's rare to see a company actually listen to their customers and then act on what they heard. When they do, that company earns my respect and loyalty. Those who have seen my gear purchase and re-sale habits here and on TDS know that I've tried just about every wing out there. The CCR-40 wing compares favorably with all of them. Celia's post outlines my "criticisms" of the wing - the corrugated hose was too short for my meg set up and the ego emissions (nice term) are in stark contrast to my otherwise debadged gear. In the water, the CCR-40 performs very well. It trims out nicely, the rear dump is quite easy to find and use and it provides a nice slim profile. I'd given Tobin a more pedantic detailing of my thoughts, Celia and Scott have captured nearly all of them. The one response item that Tobin mentions in this thread is the reasoning behind the horseshoe design. I'd been using a donut-style wing for the last year or so with no issues, although I have modified my meg to make it taller. Tobin's reasoning behind a shorter profile and horseshoe design is well considered. In short, this is an excellent wing. Tim Thanks Tobin! |

![]() ![]() | Re: DSS CCR-40 Wing Here are the promised pictures, sorry for the delay. I've got a 40lb DSS single wing. It's about 25" long, 18" wide. It's also got about 8" between the bottom mounting hole and the bottom of the wing. This is the real problem with the sport kiss; there's only about 4.5" between the mounting stud on the case and the bottom of the case. With the singles wing that means a good 4" that can flop underneath when you're gearing up or down with the unit sitting upright. This is how I've put holes in my bc in the past. I can try and post pictures if this isn't clear. The actual width is just a bit wider than the photo depicts, if you flatten out the wing. The photo shows about 23" top to bottom, and about 22" wide. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: DSS CCR-40 Wing Just measured a DSS Rebreather-40 wing (aka CCR-40) From the center of the bottom grommet to the bottom of the wing is indeed 4.5 inches. The grommets are 1" C to C, that makes the "middle grommet" 5.5" from the bottom and the "Top Grommet" 6.5" from the bottom edge of the wing. Tobin

![]() ![]() | Re: DSS CCR-40 Wing This should work perfectly on the SK. I'll order one Real Soon Now and see how it works out. Heck maybe I should just order up a whole new single rig... BTW: the DSS weight plates work great for trimming out the sport kiss. -Brett |
