I didn't use a weight belt when living and diving with drysuit in Norway (i.e. 1-2C in Winter) and Belgium (i.e. 5C at bottom of quarry year round)... | Technical caver Current Rebreather/s: | Re: Choice of light for UK diving Quote: but what I'm after is the everyday useability comparison between a 10w and 21/24w lamp Having used both (albeit in caves) I find the 21W gives a good light and is great for large sump passage (Lot etc). In UK caves with low passage and low visibility I find it gives too much back scatter , I find this can be a problem. The 10W HID has less back scatter (being less Watts ) ,but it still cuts through the silt. With a focusable head (Dive rite) it in some ways gives a choice of beam pattern that suits the conditions on the day. I have also used LED,s and although Ok do not have the punch of the HID. Also in my case a lower wattage gives more duration for a given battery pack useful on longer dives. This is a question that has many answers and some you will see are based on you like what you like. In that I am no different. Andrew.

It's the time in the water that will get to you![]() 60-90 minutes dives can get away with virtually no insulation and little bouancy. But we are now getting far from the subject of a good light for UK diving. |
