![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Omniswivel Total Solution Golem Gear is proud to present a Total Solution by Omniswivel. All your gas supply connections from one source. Omniswivel folks were kind enough to manufacture the "missing link" for us. The male QD with 3/8-24 thread. This QD can replace the standard QDs in Counterlung add valves, BC inflators, and dry suit valves. Now Omniswivel female can supply gas to BOV, 2nd stage OC regs, switch blocks/manifolds, as well as to dry suit, BC and counterlungs. ![]() available here Golem Gear, Inc. - Q.D Male To 3/8-24"Male Last edited by lof : 23rd July 2007 at 03:45. |

In one of the threads about CEJN, Dave Sutton mentionned that they are not compatible. But now if you start from scratch and don't already own CEJNs, getting a complete package from one source (Golem) will probably save you a great deal in time and shipping from different sources. Plus the sources I know for CEJN hoses can only supply 2 lentghs of hoses. Using Omniswivel threaded female QDs on whatever LP hose you want is more flexible.Best Philippe |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Omniswivel Total Solution Jakub, Some people are concerned about a small amount of water getting into the OC reg during the switch, so we are experimenting with this. This is just a prototype, we are testing if it would provide enough gas at depth.I understand the need for a check valve male QD on the gas block but why did you put one on the BOV ?? Best Philippe These fittings are NOT compatible with CEJN fittings. |

Using Omniswivel threaded female QDs on whatever LP hose you want is more flexible. Actually between Ocean Reef, Viking, Poseidon, SeaQuest, and the other CEJN standard manufacturers, you can get about any sort of hose needed. Or, as pointed out, make your own using the fittings and crimps. Mixed thoughts: (1): Great that there's now a fitting to use with the other parts... one stop shopping. Makes it easy. (2): But with that said, the chances of my buddy having a CEJN hose on his drysuit is high, the chances of having them at the LDS is high, the chances of finding them in your junk box is high, and the chances of happening to have stocks of the non-standard hose low (zero, actually). Just not sure we need a second "standard".... and wish that they had just standardized their stuff with CEJN to begin with. The alternative is to simply buy the 3/8-24 to CEJN male fitting from Si-Tek and to screw them into the Omniswivel switch blocks, etc. But: On balance, Nice work, and good to have one architecture available off the shelf to work with. Pick one or the other, having all your stuff plug and play is great. Just make sure your buddy uses the same stuff. Dave

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Re: Omniswivel Total Solution You're right Dave, I had forgotten about some sources other than OceanReef. And I have & use re-usable fittings. I also have some barbed 3/8 fittings made from Swagelok push-on fittings and then re-machined into 3/8 unf and plated. They are very versatile and a must have in a save-a-dive kit (ccr or oc). But this is a thread about Omniswivel as an announcement and what Jakub is proposing. So it's not needed to undermine his offer, especially as he has made a good job here, as usual I may add. I agree with your point about the higher probability to find CEJN vs Omniswivel out there. Now again if you and your team mates are starting from scratch, Jakub is offering a one-stop-shop very good solution and he deserves to be congratulated for that. Best Philippe |
