Re: Omniswivel Total Solution

Right maybe I should of explained this better. The female coupling which attaches to a standard reg hose will swivel all the way round 360 degrees without even rotating the coupling a mm so unless you can look at it or use both hands it dosent work for me.Hence the need to cut the locking tab to disconnect one handed.I am sure not what eveyone wants just what suits me.

Re: Omniswivel Total Solution

Old thread, I know, but there were some interesting ideas being thrown around ... like having Omniswivel make their parts compatible with CEJN.

Any news?

Re: Omniswivel Total Solution

Hello,

So, what eventually happened?

Also, I'm setting up for QD on the BOV to the bailout.... do I or do I not need a check valve? Most likely there will be a hose on the BOV to the bailout tank area and the a QD with it's mate on a short hose on the bailout 1st stage.

I'd like the option of changing connections under water.

Overall, in what situations should I get a check valve and where should I not worry about it?

Sincerely,

-paul

Re: Omniswivel Total Solution

Any chance that you are going to make a fitting to replace the Inspiration counterlung fittings. I have Omniswivel QD on my BOV and other gas connections the only one different is my counterlung connection

Re: Omniswivel Total Solution

I am in agreeance with the non-conformity with the 'standard'. Makes things potentially sloppy unless you have 100% of the market. My biggest consern would be from a safety perspective. I like to know that other members of my dive team have cross-compatible Q/D's to facilitate gas sharing if needed. Naturally all should be checked before a dive, but I'd hate to find out the hard way and not have things fit when it gets ugly.

Re: Omniswivel Total Solution

If it is a concern, make an adapter. I am building my off-board system at the moment. All my connections will be omniswivel, except for my wing, which will use a standard bc qd connection on the hose, with a omni nipple on the inflater. In between will be an omni female QD, 9/16F to 3/8F adapter and a bc nipple. I can then use this to hook up to any standard lp qd if required. If I were diving regularly with a standard team with standard off board I would have another adapter made to suit.

Cheers,

Ben.

Re: Omniswivel Total Solution

My apologies for the poor quality of the photo (mobile phone), however this is the adapter I have constructed:

IMG_0033.JPG

All of my quick disconnects are now M&J (omniswivel), however I still use a standard lp qd on my wing and and M&J nipple on the inflator with this adapter inbetween. This is so if everything goes to hell and I only have access to someone else's offboard (SERIOUSLY worst case scenario!) then I can still cross-connect.

Cheers,

Ben.

Do you have the specific part numbers or website links so that I can make one or buy one also?
