| VR3 Powerdown I thought the VR3 was supposed to lose all gas, time and logbook data if turned off and battery removed for 10 mins? I still have all the old data in the divelog. What gives? |

If you are trying to wipe it then pretend that you want to download log data to a laptop via infrared using a standard infrared port that does the trick and takes much less than 10 mins. ![]() |

| Re: VR3 Powerdown Hi, The newer versions of the VR3 do not loose the logbook data any more by removing the battery! Turning it on and removing the battery will only reset the date/time and gas settings - Not the logs. If you need to delete the dive logs you will need to sent the computer to Delta P. DINspiration |

| Re: VR3 Powerdown Hi, Then, it does appear that they (Delta P) are not on top of revising their manual (2006 version???) or have decided to incorporate all previous version operating configurations of the OS (mine is 3.03c - Current Monochrome Ver.) in their manual. Hmmmm...being in the quality business, I wonder what it takes to obtain a CE Mark as a Dive Computer Manufacturer? Seems somewhat unlikely in this case. The newer versions of the VR3 do not loose the logbook data any more by removing the battery! | Re: VR3 Powerdown No - You still should not use a standard IR port with the VR3. I don't know what the new boards are doing in this case. What I can say is that removing the battery will no longer delete the logs! | Re: VR3 Powerdown Correct - This function is not listed within the manual. I had a problem downloading some dives and tried to reset everything by removing the battery. I was surprised that the logs were still available. I sent a mail to Delta P ant they confirmed the new function.... From my point of view it is much better to have to logs still within the memory. We had a dive accident in Switzerland some time ago and the police tried to transfer the dive data to a pc. Without knowing that the VR3 will delete everything by removing the battery they did a complete reset of the computer! So the complete information about the dive was lost.....
